MIA TURNER WHITLEY

     Hello my name is MaMa Mia! I am the Assistant Director of PBG! I have been with the organization for about 5 years now. I am really enjoying all the wonderful things we have done from attending out of state conferences to giving back to the community! Its so amazing to have this opportunity and I do not take it lightly! 
 

     My why for being a mentor is because of my 9 to 5. I work in customer service in a call center. I was interviewing for Customer Service Representatives. Some of the young people being interviewed, were unbelievable! They lacked professional skills and did not know how to properly respond to the behavior questions (tell me about a time...), dressed in inappropriate attire among other things. I figured let me impact these children and along came Tasha Thomas! 
   

     We are not only impacting their lives, but also their parents.  We provide parent workshops through MIASpeaks! The parents are actively engaged in the lives of their children and we are being their support system as well.  I am married and we have a blended family of 7. We also have 12 grandchildren!! We love family and friends that are like family
